Furoshiki is a traditional item with 1300 years of history, while it has been recently re-evaluated as an eco-friendly SDGs goods in a society aspiring to be sustainable.
Furoshiki is:
a practical and functional “reusable bag & wrapping tool”,
a “decoration tool” which expresses your taste with color, pattern and wrapping styles,
a “messenger tool” which wraps your heart up,
an all-around item that turns into unexpected beings, depends on size/pattern/knotting & wrapping techniques
In our program, you will start by learning the history and enchantment of Furoshiki. Then you will experience both practical and decorative knotting & wrapping techniques that you can try in your daily life. You will even see Furoshiki arts originally created by Jidaiya. From the beginning to the end, our instructor leads you with easy terminologies to the amazing sphere of Furoshiki.
The Furoshiki cloth you chose for the program (one piece of Furoshiki per person) will be yours as a souvenir. You can enjoy photo session in Jidaiya’s traditional Japanese settings after the program.

1．All arrangements are made by Jidaiya and you can join empty-handed.
2．Before the experience starts, our instructor tells you history and charm of Furoshiki.
3．Then you choose your own Furoshiki cloth to use in the experience and to take home as a souvenir after the program (one piece per person).
4．Enjoy Furoshiki wrapping experience! The finest choice from 30+ wrapping techniques & Furoshiki art will be introduced to you.
5．Complete! Strolling on Asakusa streets with your work is recommendable.
